Since two days I have been thinking about a serial, which I had read in Kannada weekly, once upon a time. I am speaking about my school days, may be 10-12 years back, when the TV was not so popular. I don't remember the serial's name nor did I like the story line then. But now when I think of that story, I feel it was very bold for that time or any time for that matter.
It is a story about a lady who is happily married with two children. If I am right her name was Anu. Her husband is one of the successful man (may be a business man or a doctor.)
Every thing in Anu's life is fine until their she meets Sameer (This is the name I have given to that character) . Anu starts liking Sameer but avoids him for some time because she thinks it's wrong for a married woman to like a man in that way. But her heart wins the battle and she gets into a relationship with him. They both reach a stage where in they feel they can't leave with out each other. One noticeable thing here is that thy do not have any physical relationship between them.
She is guilty of cheating or may be ditching her husband and she goes through an emotional trauma. Sameer how ever doesn't have these problems, as he is not yet married. The writer has explained their state of mind very well in some of the chapters, which I can't recall now.
One fine day Anu's husband comes to know about the relationship. The writer had ended one of the chapter with this sentence. I was thinking may be she'll apologize to her husband and since he is an ideal husband he will forgive her and take her with him again.
But I was really surprised to read the last chapter. Her husband convinces both Anu's and his parents for Sameer and Anu's marriage. He says after spending nearly 10 years with him if Anu loves Sameer then may be she needs him in her life and even after knowing everything about her if Sameer can love Anu then may be Sameer really loves her. May be there were some more emotional dialogues like this before Anu and Sameer's marriage. Anu's husband says that he will be a friend to both of them and Anu and himself will look after their children together.
I don't want to comment about Anu's commitment or Sameer's attitude and
I don't know how far this story can become a reality but the fact is we might find a lot of Anu s and Sameer s but not Anu's husband.
