Some times we face a strange dilemma in life, which is important, ‘my identity’ or ‘my relationship’? Some one rightly said ‘To be’ or ‘Not to be’ is the greatest dilemma in life.
Most of us choose for a relationship. We believe that we cannot exist with out them. I can never be simply myself. I am always some one’s daughter, some one’s sibling, some one’s wife, and some one’s daughter in law, some one’s mother so on and so forth. It’s not different in a guy’s case too. He is a son, a sibling, a husband, a father and a patriarch but never just a person.
It takes lots of strength to choose between the ‘identity’ and the ‘relationships’. But neither of them assures you of any satisfaction or happiness or what so ever. On the worse, some times you might end up realizing the choice you made long back was wrong!
A divorced couple after some time feel, that they could have got along if he was a little more sensitive, if she was a little more patient. But it’s a cliché that they were responsible for introducing that ‘IF’ there.
Happiness/Satisfaction might elude a person even after he chose to be an individualist. One might start feeling the clutch of loneliness late in the day.
These are just the negative aspects to both the choices. There can be happy scenarios too.
Husband and wife both know their limitations, they both understand they are not perfect and they both have realized that they can fill in that imperfection in the other.
A person who chose to be alone may not regret his decision. He knows that it gives him immense amount of space and freedom to be his own self. He has realized that his existence is not dependent on any thing in this universe but his own self, the soul.
Well that’s me right now for you. I know all possibilities. (Come on I am a perfect geminine how can I ever look at a single face of the coin).
May God give us the courage to change things we can,
Strength to accept things that we cannot change,
And the wisdom to, differentiate between the two.
Relationships can be of 2 types which forces binding which you can not escape.Like Father/Mother/Son/Daughter etc etc ....but you can escape/choose relationship in case of Friends/husband/wife ..that is clearly explained in Sankrit language as "Sumbandh" for relationship ..where "bhanda' means "locking". But they consider husband/wife also as 'Sumbanha' since at that it was considered these relationship are sacred & destined
